In a bizarre crossover event that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden sect.

The questline focuses on "strange tests and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Material

Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Latest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
